Rutland Holiday Cottage: two chapel lane

two chapel lane is a child-friendly holiday cottage in Ketton, a pretty quintessential English village in Rutland. It makes an ideal country retreat for both couples and families.

Eighteenth century and Grade II listed, the cottage is decorated in a contemporary English country-style with antique furniture, white cotton bedding and Cath Kidston fabrics. The sitting room includes a wood-burning stove, Sky + and sofa-bed, alongside a large collection of DVDs to suit both adults and children alike. There's a king-size bed in the main bedroom and double in the second, great for young children as well as couples. The cottage also has a courtyard garden and on-street parking.

Looking for a romantic break? Optional extras include breakfast hampers, champagne, chocolates and flowers. For guests requiring a child-friendly holiday, we also offer a baby-sitting service along with travel cot, high-chair, toy basket and other baby-friendly extras.

Close to the beautiful market town of Stamford, Burghley House and Rutland Water (where facilities available include rock-climbing, sailing, fishing and bike hire). The local area also includes cosy country pubs, award winning restaurants, tea and coffee shops and an array of boutiques and other stylish independent outlets selling home-ware, antiques and local produce. Supermarkets include M&S, Sainsbury's and Waitrose, who offer a delivery service to the cottage. The local Cook shop will also provide quality ready-meals delivered to your door.

So whether you're looking for a child or baby-friendly holiday, romantic retreat, or a country break with friends, two chapel lane and the surrounding Rutland countryside provides a stylish retreat in the heart of the English countryside.

Bookings can be made through this website, via email or by phone.

The Norman Great Hall of Oakham Castle, a late 12th century fortified manor house, is one of the finest domestic buildings of the period. It stands within walled earthworks, and remains of an earlier motte and bailey castle are also visible. Within, the columns are decorated with sculptures of medieval musicians, and other fine Romanesque carvings survive. On the walls hang over 200 unique presentation horseshoes forfeited by royalty and peers of the realm to the Lord of the Manor of Oakham. The castle is increasingly popular as a venue for civil marriages and is open free nearly every day.
